Novell Tullett is a small practice with a big mentality. We are a creative, enthusiastic and close-knit team who love to get stuck into a challenging project. In fact the more complex the better. We each have our strengths and are united by the desire to find intelligent and sustainable solutions for each site.
We are a close-knit team with a range of complementary specialisms. We work from a converted barn which is part of the home farm of historic Barrow Court in Barrow Gurney, a couple of miles from Bristol city centre. We enjoy all the advantages of our rural location with a log fire in winter and fresh salad grown in our sunny courtyard in summer.
Jane Fowles - Director
Jane has led Novell Tullett since 2007 and has shaped its reputation for imaginative design and quality landscapes. Jane studied landscape architecture at the University of Greenwich and later trained in urban design. She is a champion of the value of landscape architecture, chairing design reviews, giving talks to the industry and mentoring graduates through their professional exams.
Jane spends much of her time meeting clients, getting projects off the ground, and guiding project development. She spent her early career with LUC, working on a diverse portfolio of projects including mixed-use developments, large residential schemes and river restoration. She has particular expertise in complex site analysis which allows her to give excellent planning advice and considered argument at appeal.
She often favours the hand-drawn over the digital for its subtlety and emotional connection with the viewer.
Simon Lindsley - Associate

With a background at Derek Lovejoy Partnership and Broadway Malyan, he has a specialist technical knowledge which helps him to transform concept design into elegant working solutions.
He studied environmental science at university, and went on to qualify as both an urban designer and landscape architect. Among the mixed-use projects he has delivered for NT, are Cabot Circus, Quakers Friars, Saw Close in Bath and Keynsham Town Hall. He also specialises in landscape character studies, LVIA, EIA and Neighbourhood plans.
Simon oversees the office technical capability and is our BIM co-ordinator.
Georgina Harvey - Associate
Georgina has a background in journalism and documentary making and graduated as a landscape architect from the University of Gloucestershire in 2011. She also has an MSc in sustainable architecture from the Centre for Alternative Technology.
She uses her research skills and storytelling in site analysis and concept design to explore and capture the heart of a place and translate that into workable plans. She views landscape design as a powerful tool to improve the human experience and protect our natural resources, and works collaboratively with other consultants to embed sustainable solutions in every project.
Some key projects she has worked on with NT include the Old Bristol Royal Infirmary, King’s Square, Gloucester, Milford Docks regeneration and almshouses for Bristol Charities. She also authors a range of landscape reports.
