Sensitive contemporary response to historic context
As part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the 2012 Olympics a small consortium of consultants (including Novell Tullett) put together proposals to raise awareness of the condition of Queen Square in Bath and seek funding for its restoration.
The contemporary scheme would respect the historic context and restore the important setting of the square. Proposal included controlling the peripheral parking areas to enable better pedestrian access from adjoining streets; new stone paving and fountains to animate the space; much needed management of the trees as well as new furniture and railings.
